The Best Christmas News Ever
Just for a couple of days I posted Iris searching after a home. Christmas Eve, I had promised myself not to be on FB or checking my emails. Disappointed and frustrated I had to admit, it was darn hard not to check. I tried to comfort myself that I only had to check three times during the whole day.
Wow, what is happening to us!
However, I am so glad I did. The best Christmas news was laying there waiting for my approval.
A family in Stockholm, Sweden wanted to adopt Iris, would I say yes to them?
Amazing news....Iris is out from the horrible shelter and now in a foster home, the mom that rescued her ones.
That's Amore Iris!

IRIS BEAUTIFUL SEARCHING FOR A HOME TO CALL HERS.
IRIS was found on the streets in south Italy, skin and bones.
Since then she has been in a horrible sad place, a cage in a shelter, never coming out to run around in grass, or in to a home only to be loved.
Iris looks just like the other stray dogs, so no one adopts her. No one sees her!

She is spayed, vaccinated, leischmania and erlichia tested and of course, de wormed.
Right now her weight is 20 kg, she is a little overweight <3 p="">

WONDERFUL ENGLISH SETTERS UP FOR ADOPTION
ENGLISH SETTERS are a very common breed in south Italy used for hunting. They are overbreed and got not much status and are being abandon in woods or on streets. English Setters are being well known for being wonderful family dogs, their positive, happy, loyal and very good with children.
Below is beautiful Lisa, a Senior lady with so much to still give.
LISA was being used to breed many litters of puppies for many years locked in a cage. When no longer being to any use she was being dumped.
Dalma is 4 years old and was found abandon on the field/streets. Many hunters from south Italy abandon their English Setters when not useful anymore.
Dalma is sweet and will become a great family member. Great with other dogs. She is a sweet heart.
Now she is in an outdoor shelter and we would so much want for her to find her forever home before it becomes to cold out there.

Since many English Setters are being abandon from hunters we have been successful to find them homes. And all the families are saying the same 'they never knew before how fantastic they were'

This is What we Do
This is what we do; find, evaluate, treat, love, medicine, family

That's Amore!
Look with your eyes, brain and heart heart emoticon not only eyes.
Look with your eyes, brain and heart heart emoticon not only eyes.
The year 2009We found her locked into a construction site. There were people but no one gave her food. I put on my black tights and black hood and got her out. She pooped grass.
I took her to a veterinarian who screamed that we had to euthanize this dog. It was probably full of diseases!
I don't keep animals alive only to have them suffering, but I know that sometimes we have a tendency to look too much with our eyes.
The vet then said, this dog would cost a lot of money medical wise. It was cheaper to euthanize the dog.
I refused. My mind and heart said something else.
We changed veterinarian. Tests were being made...no diseases!
I found a family, a fantastic family.
They never had any excuses to leave her behind even if they moved around the world.
No excuse even when they got a child.

Craig Kleber a True Santa to the Animals
We recieved a wonderful Christmas Gift from our wonderful Animal Friend, Craig Kleber,
" I am donating $1000 in memory of a dog who passed away that was rescued by Araceli Camacho but also for your recent dog friend losses too, Joey'
Dieguito
Little ' Dieguito' was born on May 3rd, 2006 in Los Angeles CA in the humble home of the Camacho Family! He passed on, unexpectedly, November 20th, 2015. He was the second of 7 siblings. He was a joy to the Canacho home for 9 beautiful years! His unconditional love taught people around him many lessons.
Being a dachshund type dog his body shape caused him to have a herniated disk and that led to his departure from this earth. His family did everything possible to make him better but it was nearly impossible! His pain and suffering was unbearable for him and those who treasured him.
When it was time to let him go his caring mother, Araceli, held him until his last breath left his body and his spirit went to heaven. The Camacho family misses him so much yet they know that he is no longer in pain and at peace. As Araceli said to me "he will forever remain in our hearts! Dieguito we will always love you! "
Bless you Dieguito

In memory the Happy Street Dog Joey
Joey was the happiest stray dog down in Campania, Italy. With his love and positive attitued he was loved by many Italians, Brits and Americans. He touched so many hearts.
I got a message from Carol Mander Yeomans asking if we could find Joey a home. Stray, getting older (not in his mind at all) winter was coming....I said yes we would find him a home.
Jolene Callahan took him into her home during the health check and passport (helped us great during that time it took, Thank you)

Joey came to me and he was wonderful, deaf, positive little guy. He had a tough stabile charisma that told the other dogs to accept him. And they did, right until the end heart emoticon
No one answered on Joeys adoption add. Maybe because he was black...maybe because there are millions of dogs searching for homes out there!
He was loved, so much loved....and I didn't get to have you for a long time, but you are forever in my heart.
Joey, you got your wish granted, to fall a sleep outside in "your" freedom with me by your side.
Thank you my veterinarian Martina (Germany) for helping me with Joeys wish heart emoticon

It is Never to Late
Genni our volunteer together with her adopted Senior Dog, Luce went and gave a presentation on keeping animals safe and keeping children safe around animals to her daughters Girl Scout troop so they could earn a safety badge. " I used my AWL yellow bag and talked about where Lucy came from. As always, Lucy is a super star. I brought my stethoscope and all of the children got to listen to Lucy's heart beat and of course give her lots of love and attention. " Genni heart emoticon
What an inspiration
Luce was a former hunting dog locked into an outside basement without electricity or heat for 10 years. Her owner died and the rest of the family didn't want Luce and drove her to the state shelter. We found a home for her here in Germany, the wonderful family Genni (USA)
She was full of cancer and AWL sponsored her surgeries. For over two years now has she been healthy and a big star among children....teaching them....it's never to late, even if you are a Senior Dog!
That's Amore!

Good Bye My Friend RIP
RIP JOEY my Friend,
Last Saturday I noticed that we were running out of time. You were still wagging your tail, but something had changed around you. Sunday came and you were laying close to me, closer than ever before. I knew the time was here.
That Monday morning phone call to the veterinarian was the hardest to make.

DOGS WITHOUT HOMES
This is Friki from Toscana, Italy. You can see she is not a big dog, 15 kg.
She was abandon by her family. After 4 years they didn't have time anymore.
She has been in the shelter for 6 months and doesn't understand what she did wrong?
She is loving and affectionate, she is constantly searching for contact. Sometimes she can become a little jealous since she is afraid of being replaced. Right now she is living together with other dogs.
She is sterilized, vaccinated, leichmania and heart-worm tested = negative.

Neve is 1 year old and full of love. Sensitive and need a warm family/person that will see her in her eyes and promise she can stay.
She will this week be sterilized, vaccinated and tested for leischmania.
She can go to the perfect home in Italy, Germany or Sweden.

Baglico was found outside a gypsy camp in Portugal, disoriented and with burns in his face.
He had got acid splashed to his face. Wonderful volunteers brought him to the veterinarian for treatment. Today he is doing fine however he needs a home before the cold winter is coming.
A house with a fenced in garden would be genial. Calm loving family, maybe an older person.
Balgico is calm and sweet, only 25 cm and 7/8kg.
Tested negative for leischmania and heart-worm.
Can go to the perfect home in Germany and Sweden

Our Little Joey
Joey was a very happy stray down in south Italy for many years. At first he didn't want to be someones pet. He loved his freedom and meeting the people that fed him, petted him and then, let him go.
But becoming a Senior on the streets is not easy, especially when the winters cold night making them sicker. WE decided that Joey should have a home.
Joey came to me in my Senior Sanctuary home among 14 other dogs, I think one year ago. He was going to be spayed. I had a check up on him and he had artros on his back spines and on top of everything, leischmania. No one wanted to adopt a Senior with Leischmania. I don't have any problems with that since we have had many dogs and it can be kept under control if caught in right time.
Ironic, it was not the leischmania that would end his life. He got aggressive cancer that are spreading in his body like fire.
I was crying, since his mind is still very sharp but his body is breaking down.
Olivia and I took him to the veterinarian and I could see in Dr Hummels eyes that it was not much hope. 5-7 days. We got medicine, painkiller and other things that will help ease some. But when Joey wants to, Dr Hummel will come home and help him over to the other side.
Joey has his bed infront of the fireplace, and it is pate' three times a day. He eats and is very happy and we are happy and thankful for each day we get together with him.

EN MAGISK KVÄLL TILL STÖD FÖR ANIMALS WITHOUT LIMITS
You can see the event on FB, click here
Pris: 250 kr, 100% går till Animals Without Limits

AWL want to welcome a new wonderful volunteer to our team. As you can see on the picture she is a gorgeous dog friend from Italy but lives in Sweden right now.
Martina will help us with adoptions in Sweden and also translation. The best part is that she got family in the region were we help the animals. So, she knows already a lot about our work.

JOEY JO JO
is a wonderful happy senior that are starting to enjoy home life. He was a happy street dog that loved to greet people and walk around getting food from resturants. Cold and hard life starting to wear on his body. So we decided he had to become a 'home' boy.
He is adorable and loves to lay outside the whole days. Great with other dogs and children.
Looking for a great family. Interested?

PAINTING WITH THE HEART AND SOUL
Proudest moment, is when creating something that feels wonderful.
The Journey of Pain-Paint Therapy
Back in the summer 2013, Mia started
painting by “coincidence”. She searched for something that would make her
feel less pain or otherwise help replace the pain that she had in her body, if
only for a little while.
For a couple of years Mia have lived
with Lyme disease (Borreliose) and have been going through treatments. She
didn’t want to eat more painkillers or use any morphine plaster. Instead, she
began painting!
Mia called her project: ‘The
Pain-Paint Therapy’
Never before had she held an artist’s
paint brush in her hand, Mia bought home what she thought was she needed to
create ‘something’. And she just started!
It was an amazing feeling for her and
the painting has helped Mia a long way on her path. Every summer,

ITALIAN TRIP IN JUNE
When in Italy last month I just had to met
the famous well known lovebug pug, Fonzie.
For 14 years was he neglected from his owners, and left to our veterinarian to have his life ended. They claimed he didn't want to eat and walk. Our vet suspected something wasn't right at all. He put a bowl of food under his tired head, and Fonzie started to eat. The claws were so long that yes, he couldn't walk!!! He cut them and on wiggly legs he started to walk.
Our vet called us and we
rushed to pick him up.
Fonzie is the sweetest little man on this earth. And he looks wonderful now, skin glowing.
❤
gosh how we love him! Foster mom Flavia (Instagram) @me_i Grazie per tutti🇮🇹
