HANG IN THERE BONITA

Our Bonita is very sick. She is now in good hands with Dr Damiani at his clinic and tests will be done so the right treatment can be performed. Please keep your paws crossed for her, and send Amore healing her way.
On our way to the clinic. I picked her up at her foster family's home, David and Lindy. Bonita jumped right into my car, and sat like a lady the whole way to Dr Damiani's clinic. Inside the clinic, her tail wagged to everyone she saw. Despite darkness in her life she is the most positive I have met, so thankful, so quiet, so loving and so forgiving. AWL is there for you, Bonita.

OSCAR THE STRAY'S EYE'S ARE GETTING CHECKED

Oscar has long been fed by an English Lady (Lynn) out on the busy streets. Recently, she contacted me asking if we could help him to have his eyes checked because they didn't look well. I picked Oscar up, lovely little guy, 10 years old and so great in the car, and lovely in the clinic. The eye specialist Dr Alexandria, is working up in Rome but I got an appointment with her at Dr Damiani's office. For one hour a very thorough examination was conducted. I admire these strays, they are so lovely, calm and gentle.

He got a check up, he was already castrated. But what a guy, we were three persons picking on him and he didn't do a thing. He was put on a muzzle only when his ears were being checked, he were very sensitive about his ears and instruments had to go in and remove "glued hair." So the muzzle was if he would defend himself, you never know, and must be careful. But Oscar....was great.

He has cataracts on both eyes but one is worse and he will become blind on that eye in a couple of months, without expensive treatment.

How I wish we had the hospice/clinic now, that would be a perfect place for Oscar to retire from the street. A blind stray won't survive a busy street, or find food.

DOGFOOD DONATIONAND OTHER SMALL THINGS

Lindy and David worked on a small project, getting a storage together.
Yvonne and Mark gave some dogs exercise in the beautiful weather.

Olivia and Martina was holding a new sweet gentle Husky.

Phillipo got a new friend. She was left behind in an empty house when the person moved out. She is young but according to Yvonne is she really a good girl.

And of course the main reason why we drove out there. To unload my SUV with so many bags of dog food. Thank you everyone for making a difference, Mark, Lindy, David, Jackie, Yvonne, Olivia and Mia.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE?

AMORE PER VOI

This lady you have read about in several of my blogs. She is AWL volunteer, works for all animals, and have become a dear friend. This lady has a big animal heart, and she is out every day rescuing and feeding and assiting AWL. She is stubborn --- positive stubborn --- and won't let anything go away. I loved it once when she said; "I am allowed to complain, I am at least doing something" She is so right!

We had all heard about expired dog food that was thown away, and we nearly cried. We were so horrified that strays and shelter dogs were starving and here we threw away still good food. Jackie got a phone number to a person on base, it took her several weeks (different reasons, away on working trips, etc) until she got hold of him. No he wasn't the one to talk to. Frustrated she did research and stubbornly on the phone, she worked a fantastic cause. The payoff: The other day, we got an email that AWL could come and get 3 pallets of dog food!
Anna is another warm hearted animal friend that also does alot for the animals here. Wonderful Anna sent us the email about the dog food, and she alsways talks so warmly about AWL. That's Amore, Anna.
I could nearly not see out from my SUV --- it's full great food.

Tears in my eyes when the truck rolled bag after bag of dog food. I cannot wait to deliver this to the shelters. And to the strays roaming around on the streets.

My SUV was nearly landing on its butt with all the heavy bags! But what a thrill, my heart was pounding, and I couldn't stop kissing Anna on her cheeks (She wanted to go and have lunch.)

Jackie, what an animal trooper you are, Anna thanks for helping us so much, and to the people behind the scene...I know who you are and AWL's Amore to you are enormous. THANK YOU

SHELTER WITH 3000 DOGS

Passing a company were a lot of strays were hanging out. Next to this place is a shelter with approximately 3000 dogs (three thousand) in indoor boxes.

Wonderful Sherry that was rescued by Martina and Pio. Olivia love to be around animal friends

Pio and Martina with sister and boyfriend invited olivia and me to their house. It is wonderful to sit among loving animals friends.

Of course, Olivia and I had to play with the puppies at LegaProAnimale after walking Athena

This little cutie would love to have a forever home. There were so much Amore that day.

SOME GOT A WARM BED SOME DON'T

Lola was rescued from the street by Martina, and is a lovely gentle Setter. My children loves her, and she is so patience with them. Lola was lucky...or were we luckier?
This little guy had a chain that went into his skin. He is in a bad shape.

Wounded in a shelter is a common picture. This little fellow will probably die a slowly death caged in. Its a cry for help!

Olivia and Max loves dogs and these two dogs were so sweet towards them. Once again very patience towards my children. That is Amore, and I wish everyone could at least have some kind of dignity and Amore.
