Sully and Family

Todd made some fliers last Friday that Sully needed a loving, good permanent home. It was difficult to find any person for Sully since its very hard to adopt away dogs here. Many families already have a dog or two, and then, the competition is brutally hard here since hundred thousands of stray dogs are roaming around, and shelters are over-filled with poor souls. AWL medicate and make them healthier on the street, here are many people that are feeding the strays but cannot afford medicine.

In the afternoon the phone rang. A couple (US) asked if Sully still was looking for a home?

Saturday, we went out to LegaProAnimale were she is in quarantine-- since she is full of worms.

We put a new pink collar on Sully --that Ylva Mercer had donated-- on her and to our delight, she had gained a little weight, too.

Next week she will be going home to Fred and his wife for one week of relaxation and love, then its time to vaccinate and sterilize her.

Later on when there was another email from a person that also wanted to adopt Sully.

AWL want to thank you all for the donations-- that can help dogs like Sully.

We learned a lot from Sully and Todd. The school of Universe is outside yourself where ever you are, it is about listening with all your senses. When closing up, you won't hear anything and your spiritual growing will always be on stand-by.

Missions go on amidst illness

The need to help the animals doesn't take a break when "key" people are knocked down with an illness, injury or personal tragedy. Far from it. Thankfully, there are others who are just as concerned and ready & willing to step up and fill in when an acute need emerges.

Just such a case emerged yesterday.

Brian, who with his wife adopted Lui and will adopt Fiore in June, found a puppy where he works that clearly is in need. This puppy has a bad wound to his ear, probably worms, and needs some TLC and preventive medicine to get him on the right track in life.

Because Brian and his wife already committed to Fiore as well as Lui, they didn't feel like they could adopt this little fella, too. But they are going to foster him until they can present him for adoption at the next Naples Friends of Animals (NFOA) adoption day on the US Navy base here. (Or before if a forever home comes along).

Animals Without Limits will help with the costs for spaying and treating him, getting his first shots, and checkup. That and the care, concern and love of Brian and his wife, should just do the trick to get this little guy up to par, and read for a good forever home.

He will surely be the light in some body's eye, and the warm place in some family's heart... we just need to make sure he is ready and healthy when they appear.

Where are you, Owner?

Day and night we have tried to locate "Oscar" in the system (read about him further down.) His micro-chip number seems to be a big question mark. Since he has the micro-chip, no vet facilities can perform the necessary procedures without approval from his owner. If we can't find the owner, we can't get him back to health quickly.

"Oscar" is skin and bones and very weak, which is somewhat strange, considering all the garbage laying around, and many people feeding the strays. He may have a more serious problem, but we can't even have the diagnosis done without his owner's approval.

Oscar is a mystery, help me find the owner, so we can start treating him more at the veterinarian.
