MYA THE WONDERDOG

Met Mya probably between 1-2 years old. She was spotted among garbage and hookers in Campania region. Brought to Lega Pro Animale where she had 13 puppies.
She is now sterilized, de wormed and frontline and resting in a warm loving foster-home until she can go to a forever home.
She is great with other dogs and children in different sizes. She is a wonderful and sweet girl.

BONITA --- SHE MADE IT!

What a roller coaster ride for Bonita, we and her owner Mia in Sweden. But we finally made it!

Finally, after over one year struggling with this lady, we got all the "green" papers for the passport. Bonita, remember her close-to-death in a shelter, and we got her out. She spent so much time at different animal clinics and her foster parents David and Linda Bunn took her into their home for a very long time. They really made sure her health and spirit would be better.

Finally all her papers were ready for a passport. A whole year it took! Mia in Gothenburg, Sweden never gave up hope and that perseverance showed us what a great person she is. This past weekend, I flew in Bonita and another dog, "Freckles", and Mia drove down from Gothenburg (a four hour drive) to get her girl. When I walked out of the car carrying Bonita, Mia burst out in tears, sobbing and shaking, and we all hugged each other for joy.


Bonita got to meet her new man, Quinton, a sweet and gentle Pitt bull, and off they went to Bonita's new Paradizzo in Sweden's "second city" of Gothenburg.

And it sure is Paradizzo! Bonita has taken to her new home like a fish to water! We are so happy for you Bonita; your long struggle in a shelter, so close to death, is history. This is Amore.

Thank you Dr. Damiani for all your help and support with Bonita and others. David and Lynn, your support has been exceptional! You helped save a life!. And thanks to my family for making her last month in our home relaxing and comfortable (I sure miss her loud snoring!) and new momma Mia for never giving up on her girl. Lastly, for all the donations that helped Bonita get her health back, and finally into the loving arms of a forever home. We love and thank you all.

COBY GOT DUMBT AND NEED A FOREVER LOVING HOME

The foster family named him Coby. He is a sweet, naive and kind Doberman mix who so enjoys life.

His fostermom picked him up yesterday he has been staying in a Parco area. Now he stays with them and his new friend. Coby loves to ride in the car, he can sit, stay and give a paw when the food is coming. He is also castrated. Tomorrow he will go and get his shots.

He loves to admire you, with a little kindness, he will think highly of you and give you loyalty; and in return he never wants to be dumped again.

Abby's Return

Today Abby was picked up from LegaProAnimale having been spayed, de-wormed and expot'ed. Her ear looks much better, now she only needs a nice bath!

Such a sweet heart. Sat in the backseat the whole way home, to her foster home. AWL is happy that she got a new start in life and thank you Brian for bringing her home.

Saved Soul, up for adoption

He was close to being hit five times by fast, speeding cars. To save himself, he flew up on the walkway, bumped into a lady that got scared (she didn't see that he tried to avoid a car) and she smacked him with her purse. Scared, he dashed out on the street again, nearly hit by another car.

Enough! We couldn't watch this or find him dead on the street the next day.

No collar. But very friendly, clean and seemingly some one's dog. He wasn't afraid to walk into the house--the other strays are still walking on eggshells when entering the house (leading us to believe he has been a part of a family before).

So, for now, the director is "fostering" this great dog. AWL is not an adoption organization, but when something like this drops in your lap... one does what one has to do.

3-4 years old. Sheltie mix, with perhaps some Spaniel? Male, castrated and micro chipped. He significantly responds to an English accent. He is very friendly, loving and simply a sweet dog. And soooo cute! We are calling him Lui, but you can name him whatever you like.

According to ASL, he was a stray who they caught, castrated and released back to the street. So, even though he seems to be someone's pet, he is up for adoption if no one steps forward to claim him first.

He's been in our director's house now for over a week. No accidents, and very courteous, great around young kids. He is an awesome, loving dog that needs and deserves a home of his own, with an owner or family that will love him forever. You can see his affection in his eyes!

Oscar the "It"

Animals Without Limits is not laying on the sofa, eating Bon-Bons! This morning at 06.30 Oscar's foster mother Gordana dropped him off at Ylva's place, and his playmate Wilma.

At 09.00 I escorted him to the vet clinic for castration.

Our happy Amore goof is becoming "it", just like many of us.

A day of mixed results.

The frustration continues with trying to find the owner of "Oscar", the Dalmatian we found emaciated this past week. After calling Germany, Canada, the USA, The Netherlands and of course Italy, I was able to track the micro-chip back to the manufacturer (Bayer) in Milan, who sold it to a veterinarian in Naples (ah ha!). Unfortunately, that Vet. had no record of who purchased the micro-chip (uh, isn't that the whole purpose of micro-chipping in the first place?) But wanted me to bring the dog to them and they would continue to check!

Not!

So, no answer yet on who the owner is/was, and without that, we can't have him neutered, vaccinated, or anything. Its frustrating to say the least.

On the other hand, our efforts ended well with placing "Oscar" into a loving foster home. This family was a dog family, but lost their beloved companion to aggressive Cancer last Christmas. So, now until we find a "forever home" for "Oscar", these great people will nurse him back to health for whoever eventually winds up with this great soul.

Its almost like "Oscar" knows he is in good hands now, too. While he didn't seem too enthusiastic when I picked him up at the Vet's, when we got to the foster family, he brightened right up. He started to act almost like a puppy, albeit one that is still severely malnourished and living in an adult dog's body
